Practical test
What happens on the day?
First of all, the examiner will ask you to sign a form and show your proof of identity. Then they'll ask you to identify the car you'll be driving and ask you to read another car's number plate from the required minimum distance.
Then you'll move over to the car you'll be driving to answer two vehicle safety questions - one 'show me' and one 'tell me'. You'll need to answer both correctly, or one driving fault will be recorded before you've started driving.
