BSM instructor training
After years working in IT, Terence Knight from Ilford in Essex wanted a new challenge. A friend was a driving instructor and commented that Terence had the right mentality and temperament to be one himself.
Terence threw himself into this new career direction with BSM. "The BSM training was absolutely brilliant" he says. "I was always accustomed to learning with numbers on a computer screen, but once I realised this was a different type of training, I was off!"
"The flexibility of the training was great and this was helpful while I juggled full-time IT work. There were no problems, they always gave me plenty of warning leading up to my sessions, and time in between to put it into practice. The trainers are very competent and clear in their explanations. It's important to be able to relate to whoever you're speaking to and translate things into a situation they're comfortable with. I use a lot of how I was taught to teach my own pupils now."
BSM also provided support through Terence's exams. "Before coming back to do the final part of the exams, trainees are encouraged to go out on the road and teach. It was nerve racking on the lead up to my first day teaching, but when I was in the car speaking to the pupil, I realised how much I had learnt and that my fears were unfounded. The training I received had really prepared me." Now a BSM Franchise Instructor, he feels the quality of training was good value for money. "Because of our high level of training we can offer pupils a great service and we get a lot of work this way."
