BSM franchisees benefit from additional support that provides some extra peace of mind:

Sickness and accident cover

When you're considering self-employment, you need to think about what happens if you're unable to work due to illness or an accident. As a BSM franchisee, you'll have the added reassurance of sickness and accident cover.

  • From day one if you're involved in a work related accident (or after six months for a non-work related accident) the cover takes care of your franchise fee and provides an income while you recover (terms and conditions apply).
  • After you've completed six months as a BSM franchisee, you'll also be eligible for sickness pay if you're unable to work due to illness (terms and conditions apply).

Professional indemnity

BSM can arrange appropriate insurance cover on your behalf at no extra cost to you. This covers you for up to a maximum of £2m (terms and conditions apply) if you're accused of negligent tuition, if you inadvertently find yourself driving a student's vehicle that's not insured for such purposes or if the student under instruction is driving with inadequate insurance and they claim against you.

Help with sorting out tax

As a franchisee, you're responsible for your own tax and National Insurance. To save money on accountants' fees, we've negotiated a special deal with a firm of accountants for you. With a BSM franchise you'll benefit from a tax and accountancy service at a preferential rate, which includes completing and submitting your tax return.

Statements

You'll receive weekly statements, which will give you an at-a-glance view of key information, such as the lesson fees you've earned, franchise fees you've paid and the current status of your account.

Instructor newsletter and chat forum

Our instructor newsletter will keep you up-to-date with what's happening in the world of BSM and the driving instructor sector. We also have an online forum where you can exchange views and learn about what other BSM instructors are up to all around the country.
