BSM part of RAC

BSM driving instructors come from a wide variety of different career backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common - the motivation to be their own boss and get out on the road teaching people to drive.

Barry Neale from Dagenham in Essex was no exception. After spending 15 years as a manager at B&Q, working from 6am to 11pm for up to seven days a week, he was ready for a change. He wanted a career where he could dictate the hours he worked, to enable him to spend more time at home with his family.

"Deciding to become a driving instructor was the perfect solution," says Barry. "The flexibility of the BSM training enabled me to train around work. They let me choose the times and days which was vital, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it. The training and the trainers are very high quality and any time you need extra support they'll set up more lessons at no extra cost. At first the training sounded like quite a lot of money, but when I spoke to others who used different methods of becoming a driving instructor, it became clear to me that BSM was very good value for money."

Barry now works as a BSM Franchise Instructor. "BSM set up your driving lessons for you, give you free accident cover from day one and sickness cover after six months. Plus, you get a great deal with a firm of accountants to look after your tax details." Commenting on the advantages of working with a leading brand such as BSM, he says "There will always be work available, and BSM is one of the oldest and most well known brands. Being associated with BSM instantly gives people the perception that you're a better instructor than everyone else, as they know that BSM is of a very high quality."
