BSM Education

BSM's Education Programme offers two classroom-based resources that can be used in schools and colleges to address road safety issues in a useful, practical and relevant way.

Focusing on road safety

Too often in the day-to-day experience of driving, we become complacent to the advice given in road safety education. The problems are real, however, and young novice drivers in particular face significant risks. At BSM, we've designed our Education Programme to promote discussion of the facts and offer solutions to young people in a way that's appreciated and valued. Driving is very much a life skill and the courses offered by the programme focus on young peoples' experiences to establish a firm base for learning.

On the Ignition course

BSM Ignition

This comprehensive 12-unit course promotes road safety and the responsible use of cars and the road network.

In the classroom

BSM Signal

This valuable 5-unit course introduces students to safe driving habits and helps to prepare them for their driving test.

Who delivers the course?

BSM has produced a range of learning material, which allows both courses to be delivered by teachers. The courses are available on DVD for use on either a PC or standard DVD player. These are supported by comprehensive briefing notes and lesson plans which minimise preparation time. Teachers are also invited to view a training session included on the DVD to introduce them to the methodology and philosophy of the course, leaving you thoroughly prepared to deliver the material.
