But first…

Before you apply, it's a good idea to quickly check you're eligible to become a driving instructor with BSM. You don't need any formal qualifications, but the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) insists you will need:

• A full UK or European Union / European Economic Area unrestricted car driving licence, held for at least four years
• To have not been disqualified from driving at any time in the four years before you train
• The ability to read a car number plate at a distance of 27.5 metres (90 feet)
• To be a 'fit and proper' person, in the opinion of the DSA.

Any motoring or non-motoring convictions will be taken into account when you're assessed for inclusion on the Register. You'll also need an enhanced level Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check (as from Spring 2007). You can call us for advice on 0845 851 9688*.

Training with BSM

Our comprehensive package will get your Approved Driving Instructor training off to a flying start with:

It usually takes just 6-12 months to complete the course. But if you have the time and you're a quick learner, you could be fully qualified in even less. And we're happy to fit the two or three hour training sessions around your current job.
